Rambam - Sefer HaMitzvos
As Divided for The Daily Learning Schedule

Rambam's Introduction to the SEFER HAMITZVOT
Principles 4 - 9
(From the Introduction to Study Schedule by Sichos in English)

  Day 2Day 4

The 4th Principle

Do not count commands that cover all the Mitzvot.

The 5th Principle

Do not count the reason for a Mitzvah as the actual Mitzvah.

The 6th Principle

When a Mitzvah has both, a positive command and a prohibition, the positive commandment is counted with positive commandments and the prohibition with the prohibitions.

The 7th Principle

Do not count the details of a Mitzvah themselves as a Mitzvah.

The 8th Principle

Do not count a mere negative statement among the prohibitions.

The 9th Principle

Do not count the number of negative and positive statements, but the act which is prohibited or commanded.

One who has studied the Kaballa knows that there are infinite worlds beyond ours and beyond the worlds of the angels, all full of divine light, beauty and oneness.

But know also that all this was brought into being with a single purpose: G-d desires to be at home within your mundane world.
